Malik Beasley is facing explosive accusations from his estranged wife’s mother, who claims the former NBA guard is a deadbeat who abandoned his children and has failed to pay child support.
The allegations surfaced in a viral TikTok video posted Wednesday and were later confirmed by Beasley’s estranged wife, Montana Yao, as comments made by her mother.
“Preparing for my part in the Netflix documentary on surviving my ex-NBA son-in-law who is currently under FBI indictment, who abandoned my grandchildren, doesn’t pay child support, and is relentlessly malicious towards my daughter,” the video read.
Beasley, 29, has not publicly responded to the family allegations.

He and Yao share two children, a son born in 2019 and a daughter born in 2022. The longtime couple married in March 2020, but Yao filed for separation in March 2025.
The accusations arrive as Beasley faces a separate federal gambling case. He was indicted in June on charges including sports bribery, wire fraud conspiracy and money laundering conspiracy tied to an alleged illegal sports-betting scheme.
Beasley has pleaded not guilty.
The former Lakers, Bucks and Pistons guard most recently played in Puerto Rico after remaining unsigned by an NBA team.
