After JaNa Craig and Kenny Rodriguez, finalists from Love Island USA Season 6, confirmed their breakup online, sources allegedly close to the former couple hopped online to share more details about what really went down.
Instagram account, Deux Moi, shared an email of a tip they received from an anonymous source who claimed that Kenny’s friends had leaked a private group chat, in which he allegedly told his friends that he was only using JaNa for “business/clout” and that he called her racial slurs several times throughout the chat.
While JaNa did not state her reasons for ending their relationship, her friends and fellow Season 6 castmates, Leah Kateb and Serena Page, both took to social media on Tuesday, calling Kenny a “narcissist” and a “racist.”
Kenny has not addressed any of the allegations of racism, but did issue a statement.
“I’ve been quietly sitting with a lot of emotions and doing my best to process everything privately. Breakups are never easy, especially in the public eye. Sometimes, despite how deeply you care for someone, you come to the hard truth that the relationship was not something that could last long-term,” he wrote. “I’ll always be grateful for the time we shared and the memories we created. I release this chapter with no ill will, only a hope that JaNa’s path forward brings her nothing but happiness.”
JaNa quickly followed up with a statement of her own, telling him to “stfu” and accusing him of failing to take any accountability.
