LL Cool J has weighed in on Lil Wayne being snubbed for next year’s Super Bowl halftime show over Kendrick Lamar.
After Kendrick was announced as the headliner, Wayne broke down in a video to his fans, apologizing for letting them down and complaining about the snub.
LL Cool J says that Wayne’s time will come.
“Lil Wayne is one of the most talented dudes on the planet, period. He’s one of our great artists. He’s an unbelievable writer. He’ll have his day … let Kendrick get that. Let’s keep it moving. I never did the Super Bowl,” said the “Doin’ It” rapper.
“Wayne comes from a very proud state, Louisiana, and a very proud city, New Orleans. But this is the thing: your time will come. You’ll have your day,” he continued before telling Weezy that he should not let the decision break him. “The only reason it makes me laugh is because I know how blessed he is, I know how successful he is. So he don’t need to worry about that moment. It’s just a moment, bro. It’s just one moment. It happens.
LL also commented on the fact that it took decades for him to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Y’all agree with LL?
