Lizzo is addressing rumors that she threw shade at megastar Taylor Swift and made it clear that she does not have any issues with the pop star.
The “Truth Hurts” performer responded on X after a fan accused her of insulting Swift online. The moment came after another user compared numbers for Swift’s latest album and Lizzo’s 2025 mixtape My Face Hurts From Smiling.
“The Life Of A Showgirl + MY FACE HURTS FROM SMILING — 4.005M,” the user wrote, while also listing “ICEMAN + MAID OF HONOUR + HABIBTI — 683k.”
Lizzo appeared confused by the comparison and reposted it, asking, “Can someone explain what this means?” One reply accused her of past comments about Swift, saying, “It means all that s–t talking you did about Tay finally caught up to you.”

Lizzo quickly shut that down.
“Are you well?” she wrote. “First of all I have never talked s— about Taylor Swift— also while we on the subject I’ve never talked s— about any artist.” She added, “Just because I mention an artist by name does not mean I’m talking s—— grow tf up pls.”
The heated exchange follows Lizzo’s May 15 appearance on Genius Verified, where she discussed her single “B*tch” and said she wanted Meredith Brooks to receive proper credit for inspiring it.
“I want the whole world to know that this is her record,” Lizzo said of Brooks’ 1997 hit. She then joked about the title, saying, “You know how it’s like, ‘Taylor’s Version?’ It’s like, ‘B*tch (Lizzo’s Version).’”
Lizzo has also responded to fans accusing her of copying Cardi B’s album rollout without credit, Lizzo replied, “Hol up— I’ve publicly said #Cardi’s rollout changed the game and that im inspired by it.”
