In her new memoir, You Better Believe I’m Gonna Talk About It, former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Lisa Rinna reflects on her time in the spotlight and shares honest thoughts about her castmates, including Lisa Vanderpump and Kyle Richards.
Rinna writes that when she joined the show in season five, she admired Vanderpump and leaned on her guidance.
“I looked up to her, and I let her lead the way,” she says, calling Vanderpump “very smart” and “one of the greatest of all time” when it came to playing the reality TV game. Still, Rinna claims she later realized she had been “molded like clay.”
She also addresses the long-standing dynamic around the show’s opening credits.
“Kyle always got that spot,” Rinna writes of the coveted center diamond. “If you had a good season, you might get to stand next to her, but it was always Kyle.”
Looking back, Rinna describes feeling as though a “black cloud” followed her during certain seasons. When tensions boiled over during the infamous Puppy Gate drama, she says the cast confronted Vanderpump directly.
“Once we really called LVP out, the whole cast pretty much turned on her,” Rinna recalls.
