At last weekend’s Lil Wayne’s annual Lil Weezyana Fest at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, the rapper took the opportunity to complain about being snubbed for the headliner spot over Kendrick Lamar.
“That moment, I said to myself, I wanna be on stage for the Super Bowl one day in front of my mom, and I worked my a-s off to get that position. It was ripped away from me but this muthaf-cin moment right here. They can’t take that from me,” he said to the crowd.

Lil Wayne is still hurt that Kendrick Lamar was selected to perform.
Lil Wayne previously shared that he was “hurt” by not being chosen, but fans who attended the festival shared clips of his performance on stage and say that Jay-Z made the right call as Weezy’s performance are not at the Super Bowl level.
Weezy also reunited with the Hot Boys for a 22-minute set that included classics like “Get Your Roll On,” “I Need a Hot Girl,” and “Neighborhood Superstar.”
