The father of Lil Tay refused to confirm the teenager was still alive just hours before the teen revealed she is still alive and claimed her social media was hacked.
Chris Hope and Tay’s former manager Harry Tsang talked with Insider and were asked to comment on the teen’s passing…but they did not come out and let the outlet know that she was still alive.
At the time, he refused to comment instead of clearing the air. Her manager did comment.
“Given the complexities of the current circumstances, I am at a point where I cannot definitively confirm or dismiss the legitimacy of the statement issued by the family,” Tsang reportedly told Insider. “This situation calls for cautious consideration and respect for the sensitivities involved. My commitment remains focused on delivering updates that are both reliable and appropriately timed.”
Tay released a statement claiming her account was hacked…but fans question why she waited more than 24 hours to shoot down the rumors.
Some are accusing the family of creating a hoax to promote the rapper and possible upcoming music.
