Lil Nas X is upset after he was snubbed by the BET Awards and received no nominations this year.
“thank you bet awards. an outstanding zero nominations again. black excellence!” he tweeted.
A follower then asked him what music he’s put out, he answered, “idk maybe 3 of the biggest songs of last year & a critically acclaimed album. I feel like that should’ve helped me a bit.”
He continued, “not even that, doesn’t even have to be me nominated. I just feel like black gay ppl have to fight to be seen in this world and even when we make it to the top mfs try to pretend we are invisible. “
Lil Nas X made headlines at the last BET Awards show when he tongue kissing a man during his performance of “Montero.” Lil Nas X was the first artist – gay or straight – to tongue kiss someone during a performance at the BET Awards. So it was unprecedented on many levels.
