Three men once connected to Lil Durk are expected to become prosecution witnesses as the rapper’s federal murder-for-hire trial gets underway in Los Angeles.
Prosecutors revealed during opening statements that Kavon “OTF Vonni” Grant, Kacey “OTF Jam” Hester and Keith “Flacka” Jones have pleaded guilty and agreed to cooperate with the government. Jurors are expected to hear their accounts of the alleged plot at the center of Durk’s case.
“This is a case about revenge, stalking and pre-meditated murder,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Daniel Weiner said.
The government alleges Durk, whose real name is Durk Banks, financed a plan to kill rapper Quando Rondo, born Tyquian Bowman, after the 2020 death of Durk’s friend and OTF artist King Von.

Quando survived an August 2022 shooting near the Beverly Center in Los Angeles, but his cousin Saviay’a “Lul Pab” Robinson, 24, was fatally shot.
Durk has pleaded not guilty.
His lawyers are telling jurors a different story and are claiming that Grant, Durk’s former personal assistant, was behind the alleged retaliation and had his own reasons for seeking revenge.
The defense is expected to challenge the cooperating witnesses, including whether they could benefit from helping prosecutors.
If convicted, the Grammy-winning Chicago rapper faces the possibility of life in federal prison.
