Rapper Lil Durk shared with fans that he was injured by explosives at the Lollapalooza festival in Chicago on Sunday.
“Due to the incident that happened at Lollapalooza in Chicago on stage, I’m a take a break & focus on my health. I finished my performance yesterday for my fans. Appreciate y’all 💙,” he wrote.
In the picture, Durk’s right eye is covered with bandages.
During his performance he was hit with 2 onstage pyrotechnics in the face. After, the music was cut off and Durk took a few steps backward and covered his face with his white T-shirt.
“Woah, woah, you alright, bro? That one came a little close. It shot straight up,” a man, believed to be his DJ, asked him. After a moment, Durk said “F-ck it, no more smoke, let’s do it.”
The festival has not released a statement about the incident.
Durk is scheduled in a few weeks with more dates set for September and October.
