Rapper Lil Durk says he leaving the street violence behind him as he has fully converted to Islam.
“Don’t label me nothing outside of A MAN A FATHER and A 1000% Muslim,” he wrote on Instagram.
In a separate post, he wrote: “I don’t gangbang I’m a Muslim. Basically what I was saying on my post in so many words you can’t do both ima be the one who say it.”
Durk grew up on the streets of Chicago and has documented his life on the streets in his music.
“So if you follow me as a brother, a friend, an icon, follow me to my new chapter of life. When I make music I rap what I seen and been through not telling you to go do it HUGE difference the music won’t change but my life goals will,” he concluded.
Lil Durk, is an American rapper from Chicago, Illinois. He initially garnered a local following with the release of his Signed to the Streets mixtape series (2013–2014), whose success led to him to sign with Def Jam Recordings. The label released his debut studio album, Remember My Name (2015) and its follow-up, Lil Durk 2X (2016) to moderate commercial reception before parting ways with the artist in 2018.
