Billy Porter and husband Adam Smith have filed to divorce each other legally, Media Take Out has learned.
Embed from Getty Images“I can confirm that Billy Porter and his husband Adam Smith have made the sad decision to end their marriage after six years,” says the Bill’s rep Simon Halls confirmed yesterday to People magazine.
“The decision was an amicable and mutual one and was made after much consideration. They continue to love and support each other as they embark on this next chapter,” adds Halls.
“There will be no further comment from either parties and it would be appreciated if their privacy be respected.”
Billy and his husband Adam met in 2009 at a dinner party. They broke up after dating for about a year, but, five years later, they rekindled their romance. They got married on Jan. 14, 2017, two weeks after Porter proposed in London on Dec. 29, 2016.

Billy’s soon to be ex, Adam, comes from family money, Media Take Out has learned. His family is the distant relation to an early 20th century industrialist – so he lived a great life. He’s also worked in sales for various companies, including Chanel and Jil Sander Eyewear. He eventually launched his own eyewear company Native Ken from 2016 to 2018, and is the creative director for a number of fashion companies in New York.
