Iconic Hollywood actress Kirstie Alley has died. She was 71 and reportedly died of colon cancer which is called by many a “silent killer.”
According to the late actress’ family, she recently learned of the disease and was receiving treatment for at the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida.
It in unknown at what stage her cancer was at, but according to her family her battle with the disease was brief. They confimed her passing yesterday on social media saying,
‘She was surrounded by her closest family and fought with great strength, leaving us with a certainty of her never-ending joy of living and whatever adventures lie ahead.
‘As iconic as she was on screen, she was an even more amazing mother and grandmother.’
Much of Hollywood including Alley’s former co-stars have all responded to the actress’ death including John Travolta as she was also a member of the Church of Scientology. He said, “Kirstie was one of the most special relationships I’ve ever had. I love you Kirstie. I know we will see each other again.”
