Director Lee Daniels and actress Mo’Nique squashed their beef after their epic fallout of Precious, but in a recent interview, Daniels said he had no idea what he was apologizing to Mo’Nique for.
Mo’Nique claimed that after working together on Precious, Daniel blackballed her from Hollywood for not promoting the award-winning movie and that she struggled for years to find consistent work.
The pair reconciled on stage during a comedy show in Staten Island, New York after he apologized for hurting her in “any way” that he did… his apology was not specific at the time.
They are now both promoting their latest collaboration, the Netflix horror flick The Deliverance.
“Wasn’t that God working? First of all, part of me trying to find my higher power was also understanding what that meant,” Daniels told The Hollywood Reporter. “And that meant forgiveness, that meant apologizing, even if I didn’t understand what I was apologizing for. I had to understand that she was hurt, and that is my sister, and that I love her.”
