The former line-in personal assistant for the 1990s hit show ‘Friends’ star Matthew Perry has pleaded guilty to charges in connection his death.
Perry, 54, passed away in October after police found him lifeless inside the pool in his Hollywood home. An autopsy later confirmed that Perry died of “acute effects of ketamine”.
Perry’s assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa, was one of five defendants charged by the Department of Justice announced. He pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute ketamine causing death.
The DoJ says the assistant “repeatedly” injected Perry with ketamine “without medical training,” including on Oct. 28, 2023, the day of Perry’s passing.
“The Ketamine Queen of Los Angeles” Jasveen Sangha and Dr. Salvador Plascencia have also been named as defendants in the case and will be arraigned later on Aug. 15.
Sangha is charged with one count of conspiracy to distribute ketamine, one count of maintaining a drug-involved premises, one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, one count of possession with intent to distribute ketamine and five counts of distribution of ketamine. Plascencia is charged with conspiracy to distribute ketamine.
Two other individuals, including one other doctor, are also facing charges.
