Following the news that pop singer Liam Payne fell to his death from a Buenos Aires balcony last week, former NBA star Lamar Odom weighed in, speculating as to what could have caused his death.
“Drugs can cause you to hallucinate and if he was in a hallucination state, then who knows what happened,” Odom told TMZ.
A toxicology report revealed that he not only had pink cocaine (also known as tusi) in his system, which is usually a combination of MDMA, ketamine and methamphetamine but also benzodiazepines and crack cocaine.
“If you’re hearing voices, then you know, it’s hard to escape those voices,” Odom, who is now sober after battling his drug addiction for years, told the outlet.
Investigators also discovered a bottle of alcohol and an “improvised aluminum pipe to ingest drugs,” per ABC News. It is suspected that the singer may have fallen unconscious before the tragic fall.
Payne’s body was found in the inner courtyard of the hotel, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
