L.A. Reid has faced a loss in court after a judge refused to throw out former recording label executive Drew Dixon’s sexual assault lawsuit against him.

Dixon filed the lawsuit against Reid in November. She says he “sexually harassed [her] and refused to allow her to succeed unless she acquiesced to his demand to be alone and in close proximity to her, where he would create the opportunity to sexually assault her on two separate occasions.”

Dixon says that when she rejected his advances, he cut off funding for her projects, forcing her to walk away in 2002.

Reid filed motions to dismiss some of Dixon’s claims, citing the statute of limitations. Dixon’s attorney says the motion was a waste of the court’s time. The judge agreed.

“It is difficult to understand any prejudice caused by additional citations to other portions of Article 130,” Judge Valerie Caproni said. “Because Defendant has not met his burden, his Motion to Strike is denied.”
