Viewers were shocked that Kyle Richards did not try to defend her sister Kathy Hilton from Lisa Rinna and Erika Jayne’s allegations at the reunion.
“When you are hurt by somebody, it’s not always so cut and dry. I’m not subscribing to the idea that you stick with family no matter what because sometimes when you’re treated really poorly, you have to take a step back regardless of whether it’s blood or not and you have to have boundaries,” Kyle told Tamra Judge and Teddi Mellencamp on their Two Ts in a Pod podcast. “If you don’t know the whole story, you can’t know why I wasn’t jumping in and not defending.”
“It’s not no matter with blood you get to treat me however you want because we’re blood and I’m gonna have to take it because we’re blood and I’m gonna stick by you no matter what cuz we’re blood. If you’re mistreated, you’re mistreated and that’s how I feel,” Kyle continued. “And I was just at that point, really, really upset and hearing the things I was hearing and obviously defensive of my family, meaning my husband and my children. And I just didn’t want to. I was like, ‘Why would I when I’m hearing this and she’s saying, ‘I did ‘?'”
Viewers noted that Kyle also did not defend her other sister Kim Richards, who was attacked by Lisa on the show.
