Kody Brown and Robyn Brown are officially done with Sister Wives.
TLC confirmed in the first trailer for season 21 that Kody and his only remaining wife will not return after 16 years of filming the long-running reality series.
“After 16 years of filming Sister Wives, Kody & Robyn will not be returning to the show,” a message at the start of the trailer read.
The news appeared to catch Kody’s former wives off guard.
“I was flabbergasted, really, when I got the news,” said second wife, Janelle Brown.
Meri Brown also reacted to the shock announcement. “I was actually surprised when I was told that Kody and Robyn weren’t coming back to the show,” she said.
Christine Brown Woolley admitted she was unsure what the departure meant for the future. “I don’t know what it means. I have no idea,” she said.
Christine ended her spiritual marriage to Kody in 2021. Janelle followed, and Meri later confirmed the end of her own relationship with him.
Robyn, who legally married Kody in 2014, remained his only wife, and ultimately, the couple has since decided to remain monogamous.
The upcoming season will instead focus on Christine, Meri and Janelle as they move forward with their lives. Janelle’s new boyfriend, Pete, is also expected to appear.
Season 21 premieres on October 4 on TLC.
