Kodak Black’s Attorney Addresses Rapper’s Plantation Arrest

Lyndon Abioye |

Kodak Black’s attorney, Bradford Cohen, hopped on the internet to speak out about the rapper’s recent arrest for cocaine possession.

“The job of an attorney is never easy. That statement can be amended to read the job of an attorney who cares about your case, and your well-being is never easy. I have represented @kodakblack since he was a kid. When he went to federal prison, he was beaten by the guards so badly that he had to be hospitalized at one point. We sued the BOP, but kodak said he wanted to move forward when he was released and had me drop the case,” Cohen wrote on Instagram.

Yak was found asleep in his vehicle in Plantation, Florida. Cops came they found pills and a white, powdery substance, which they claim is cocaine.

Yak denies taking cocaine. He says the substance is Percocet.

He continued, “The injuries from those abuses coupled with the shooting caused him to get prescribed pain medicine. Unfortunately, like many people across the country, he became dependent on those prescribed pills. In this latest case, my belief is that the “rock” this officer found when tested will be a percocet, not cocaine. The test they do is a presumptive test for illegal substances. It just turns blue. That being said, @kodakblack has doubled down on getting better with assistance from many people and was signed up for immersion rehabilitation for his dependency. Hopefully, he will be able to cont with the help he needs. The system penalizes users with charges of trafficking with no indicia of trafficking. That isn’t what the legislature intended.”
