Kodak Black: I’m Not A Gangsta, I’m A Philanthropist!!

Lyndon Abioye |

Kodak Black says he’s more than just a rapper and that he shuns the “gangsta” label…he wants to be known as a philanthropist.

“People care to be a gangsta, they care for n-ggas looking at them like they some type of gangsta. I don’t give a f-ck about that sh-t you heard me? I don’t live for that. I’m a philanthropist, a good n-gga, righteous, all that. I only worry about being a good son and making sure my mom is proud of me. Making sure my family proud of me,” he said.

Yak has spent money supporting his hometown in Florida’s Golden Acres Projects. His charitable works were cited during Donald Trump’s statement about granting the rapper a commutation.

“Black is a prominent artist and community leader,” officials noted at the time. “He has committed to supporting a variety of charitable efforts, such as providing educational resources to students and families of fallen law enforcement officers and the underprivileged,” they said, adding that the rapper “paid for the notebooks of school children, provided funding and supplies to daycare centers, provided food for the hungry, and annually provides for underprivileged children during Christmas”.
