Kodak Black is in hot water again after authorities in Florida arrested the rapper for the second time this month.
The rapper, whose legal name is Bill Kapri, was booked into Broward County Jail on Thursday on charges of resisting an officer without violence and attempting to flee law enforcement. The charges remain pending trial.
Yak’s attorney, Bradford Cohen, said the arrest is tied to an older case and insisted his client voluntarily turned himself in.
“This is not a new arrest. This is from a case stemming from an incident over 5 months ago,” Cohen said in a statement. “Mr. Kapri self-surrendered on the matter yesterday and will get a bond today May 15, 2026.”

Cohen also alleged that multiple law enforcement agencies have unfairly targeted the rapper in recent years.
“Last year, he was accused of having a dirty urine sample; it turned out to be the wrong sample,” Cohen said. “In another case, he was accused of having illicit drugs, when it was tested they tested as aspirin.”
The arrest follows another recent case involving Yak. On May 6, he was arrested on a felony charge of trafficking in MDMA connected to a November incident in Orlando.
The rapper later pleaded not guilty and requested a jury trial.
