Kroy “KJ” Biermann Jr.’s days now begin with room cleaning, hygiene and schoolwork as the 15-year-old remains in custody following his arrest on aggravated sodomy and aggravated sexual battery charges.
KJ, the son of former Real Housewives of Atlanta stars Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann, has been detained at Atlanta’s Metro Regional Youth Detention Center since August 17.
According to the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice, young detainees follow a structured routine built around education and counseling.
“Each day is arranged to maintain a safe, structured environment that supports education and rehabilitation,” department spokesperson Glenn Allen told Page Six.
After morning classes and lunch, detainees continue their education before moving into recreation, dinner and individual or group counseling. Other activities can include mentoring, worship services, music, creative arts and life-skills programs.
KJ’s detention follows allegations from a female classmate who accused him of assaulting her at a fitness center in Alpharetta, Georgia, in April.
His attorney, Jason Sheffield, has strongly denied the accusations on the teen’s behalf.
“The fact that he’s been arrested and is being held without bond is a tragedy,” Sheffield said. “He is not only presumed innocent, but is, in fact, innocent.”
Zolciak has also said the allegations are “reckless and deeply troubling” and maintained that her son denies the claims.
A hearing in the case is set for September 1.
