Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner allegedly demanded $7 million from Ray J after claiming he violated a confidential 2023 settlement tied to Kim’s infamous sex tape.
According to legal letters obtained by TMZ, Kardashian and Jenner accused Ray J of breaking the agreement by publicly discussing the tape and making statements they said violated a nondisclosure clause. The agreement reportedly called for Kardashian and Jenner to pay Ray J $6 million over several years, with payments scheduled through 2026.
In a May 2025 letter, their attorneys demanded that Ray J return the $5 million he had already received. They also sought an additional $1 million for Kardashian and another $1 million for Jenner.
The legal team claimed Ray J broke the agreement by continuing to discuss the tape publicly, including during a livestream later that year, and, because of the alleged breach, Kardashian and Jenner now argued they no longer owed the final $1 million payment scheduled for 2026.
The dispute became public after a Los Angeles judge denied Kardashian and Jenner’s request to keep details of the settlement under seal.
Their attorneys argued the agreement involved “highly sensitive matters” and said both sides wanted to “protect their families from public disclosure.” The judge ultimately sided with Ray J and ordered the unredacted agreement to be filed publicly.
