Rashad McCants is revisiting his romance with Khloé Kardashian and says he once told her he was actually interested in Kim Kardashian.
The former NBA player appeared on the TFU Podcast and claimed his relationship with Khloé, which lasted about seven months between late 2008 and early 2009, was not what she may have thought it was.
McCants said Khloé asked him about their status after seeing that he had changed his Facebook relationship status to “It’s complicated.”
“It’s complicated… We have an agreement. This is not, ‘I like you.’ I like your sister [Kim],” McCants said.
McCants and Khloé were introduced through Kim’s then-boyfriend, Reggie Bush. Their romance played out publicly as the Kardashian family’s reality TV fame grew, and the breakup later came amid cheating allegations from Khloé. McCants has previously claimed parts of the storyline were manufactured for television.
Before the relationship made him a tabloid fixture, McCants had built a name in basketball. He helped North Carolina win an NCAA championship and was drafted No. 14 overall by the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2005.
“It got too much,” he said of the demise of their relationship. “I was like, ‘You know what? I’m cool, man. I’m cool.’ I haven’t seen her since,” going on to say that he “got out” before he was hit by the Kardashian curse.
