It’s been almost six years since MO3 was gunned down on a Dallas highway, and finally, the first man to stand trial in his killing has been convicted and sentenced to life in prison.
A jury found Kewon White, 27, guilty of capital murder in the November 2020 death of the rapper, whose real name was Melvin Noble. White had pleaded not guilty.
He was sentenced to life without parole following a two-week trial. Dallas County prosecutors did not seek the death penalty.
MO3, 28, was killed after being chased on Interstate 35 in Dallas. He was shot 13 times, according to local reports.
Prosecutors accused White of carrying out the killing after being hired by rapper Yella Beezy, whose real name is Markies Conway. Authorities allege Conway and MO3 had been locked in a feud that began on social media years earlier.

White’s defense challenged the murder-for-hire theory, arguing the state had not proved that part of its case but the courtroom reportedly turned emotional after the conviction when MO3’s mother, Nichole Noble, addressed White.
“I love you,” she told him. “Maybe that’s what you needed to hear, and you were looking for love with people that don’t love you.”
White cried and bowed his head.
Conway, who has pleaded not guilty and denied involvement, and Devin Brown are also charged with capital murder in MO3’s death.
