Kevin Spacey Found Not Liable In Sex Abuse Lawsuit

Media Take Out Staff |

The federal jury in Kevin Spacey’s sexual abuse trial found that he is not liable for battery against fellow actor Anthony Rapp. The jury reached a verdict in less than 90 minutes.

“I’m very grateful to the jury for seeing through these false allegations,” Spacey’s attorney Jennifer Keller said outside the courthouse.

Rapp’s case says that when he was in Spacey’s home in 1986, Spacey allegedly grabbed his buttocks, placed him on a bed and lay on him without his consent. Rapp claims he ran to the bathroom and left the home after Spacey tried to convince him to stay. He was 14 at the time.

“Mr. Spacey is grateful to live in a country where the citizens have a right to trial by impartial jurors who make their decision based on evidence and not rumor or social media,” Keller added. “Justice was done today.”

Spacey has always denied the allegations against him. “Bringing this lawsuit was always about shining a light, as part of the larger movement to stand up against all forms of sexual violence,” Rapp said.
