Kevin Hart sued by his former friend Jonathan “J.T.” Jackson for allegedly botching a deal to clear his name
The pair agreed on a settlement to clear JT’s name following the comedian’s sex-tape cheating scandal.
In his lawsuit, Jackson says Hart failed to carry out the “meticulously negotiated” 2021 settlement and is now suing him for $12 million for breach of written contract lawsuit.
“The wording of Hart’s statement — which was meticulously negotiated and detailed in the Contract — was absolutely crucial to repairing and remediating the severe damage inflicted upon Plaintiff’s reputation by the baseless extortion allegations that Hart aggressively promoted and publicized,” the complaint said.
An intimate video of Hart and a woman named Montia Sabbag were leaked online. Hart publicly apologized to his wife and kids for the “bad error in judgment” but says he was being extorted. He accused JT of being involved. JT was cleared but as part of the lawsuit, money was not exchanged but Hart agreed to help him clear his name.
Hart’s wife Eniko was pregnant at the time the scandal broke.
Jackson says he “has sustained enormous difficulties in obtaining acting roles” since the alleged breach of contract.
