Kevin Federline is denying reports that he is moving to Hawaii just to prolong receiving child support payments from his baby mama Britney Spears.
“A lot of people say a lot of stupid things,” he told a paparazzo, via Page Six.
In Hawaii, child support payments last until the child is 23 if they are enrolled full-time in either an accredited college or university or a vocational or trade school.
Last month, Britney’s lawyer was issued an ultimatum by Kevin’s lawyer that Britney needed to respond to Kevin’s request to move their kids or they would be taken to court. The failed pop star says his wife, Victoria Prince, was ready to accept a job offer at a local university in Hawaii but had to turn it down because of his custody arrangement with Britney.
“It was more than disappointing that you nevertheless chose to publicize this matter, creating unnecessary drama and a false ‘dispute’ by publicly discussing the issue and your letter,” Britney’s attorney wrote. “When I called you yesterday to express my dismay that you had done so, you denied doing so. Apparently, you did not realize that [TMZ’s] May 30 story itself literally quotes you as the story’s source.”
