Kehlani Denies Ex-Boyfriend’s Cult Allegations

Kehlani has issued a statement denying allegations made by her ex-boyfriend and father of her child, Javaughn Young-White, that she is in a cult.

Young-White dated Kehlani from 2018 to 2019, alleging that the award-winning artist is in a cult.

“Adeya was born through a home birth orchestrated by what I would describe as a cult that she belongs in,” he wrote in court documents. “Due to the fact that Adeya was born in a home and not in a conventional setting like a hospital, my name is not on Adeya’s birth certificate.”

Young-White says the alleged leader of the cult convinced Kehlani, telling the singer he would kill her, so Kehlani allegedly stopped him from contacting their child for months. He also alleges the leader has “numerous accusations of committing sexual assault” against women and young girls and that members are allowed to share a bed with and even bathe their child while under the use of psychedelic drugs.

He is seeking full custody of their daughter.

“What has been published in the media over the past 24 hours is incredibly hurtful, inaccurate, inappropriate, and simply untrue,” Kehlani’s statement reads. “I strongly deny any claims that I have put my child in harm’s way, or left my child alone with anyone deemed dangerous or unsafe. I also do not align with any of the allegations made against my former religious community that have been stated in the media.”

Young-White is also demanding a retraction and an apology from TMZ, who wrongly described the cult as a “sex cult.”
