Kathy Hilton has been fiercely supportive of her sister, Kyle Richards, amid her separation from her husband, Mauricio Umansky, but the reality star revealed that she has always extended her support to her brother-in-law, too.
“I still care about him. He is my niece’s father, and he’s been wonderful with [Farrah Aldjufrie]. He and Kyle were a great couple, and we used to have so much fun, and it’s sad,” Kathy said on the RHOBH: After Show.
This week, viewers saw the moment Mau was snapped out with a mystery woman months after they announced their split. Kyle was devastated and quickly realized that their marriage was over for good and that she needed to move on.
Kathy says Mau was taking their split hard, too.
“I’ve called to check on him. On their anniversary, I called him. [And] he goes, ‘Is everything okay?’ And I said, ‘I was just calling to see how you are doing.’ I felt bad for him, too. I could see in his face that he was sad and confused. I felt this was just as tough on him … I just wanted him to know no matter what, I care, and we’re here.”
The pair have yet to officially file for divorce.
