Kanye West reportedly unleashed a 30-minute tirade at Kris Jenner and her family for refusing to support his 2020 presidential campaign, but the explosive confrontation never made it onto Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
The argument allegedly unfolded on Oct. 28, 2020, during Caitlyn Jenner’s birthday celebration, with Kim Kardashian caught in the middle as her marriage to Ye was falling apart.
Former KUWTK executive producer Farnaz Farjam recalled the incident in Jonathan Van Meter’s upcoming biography, Citizen Kim.
“Kanye came to Caitlyn’s house with Kim and he just started ripping into Kris and the family and questioning them about not voting for him [in his 2020 presidential campaign],” Farjam recalled in an excerpt published by The Cut. “He just made it all about himself,” she added.
Despite the cameras reportedly capturing the confrontation, producers decided viewers wouldn’t see it.
“That whole 30-minute battle was very telling, but we had to edit it out,” Farjam explained.
The incident occurred during an already difficult period for Kardashian and Ye, whose marriage was deteriorating amid his presidential run and other personal struggles. Fans later witnessed Kardashian break down over their relationship during the show’s final season.
“I feel like a f–king failure and it’s, like, a third f–king marriage,” she tearfully admitted.
Kardashian filed for divorce in February 2021 after nearly seven years of marriage. Their divorce was finalized in November 2022. The former couple shares four children: North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm.
