Digital Nas went public with a royalty complaint against Kanye West’s YZY team, then quickly walked it back and apologized for calling the Chicago rapper out on social media.
The producer, who contributed to Ye’s Donda-era music and later projects including Vultures 1, claimed he had not been paid royalties for work he helped produce.
Nas said he turned to Instagram only after trying unsuccessfully to reach West through people around him.
“I hit everybody at @yzy, and no one will put me in touch with you, so I feel like this is the only way,” he wrote.
In a follow-up post, he wrote, “I know I’m like an annoying little brother but call my phone big bro I really gotta talk to you about sum real life stuff I’m going thru.”
Producer Digital Nas announces he’s retiring from the music industry, claiming his YZY contract left him with “0 royalties” and no publishing on Kanye West records he worked on!! The producer shared a schedule listing tracks from Donda, Donda 2, and Vultures 1 & 2, said his career is over, and publicly asked Ye to call him, saying no one at YZY would connect them.

The producer said the issue had become financially difficult, though he did not specify how much he believes he is owed or which recordings were affected.
Hours later, Nas appeared to regret making the dispute public.
“Should’ve kept this private,” he wrote on Instagram Stories. “I was impatient. I was getting no responses. It’s getting handled now,” alluding to someone connected to YZY finally reaching out.
He did not say whether the matter had been fully resolved or whether he had received payment.
Ye did not publicly address the allegations.
