Kanye West’s antisemitic rants in 2022 cost him his billionaire status, but in a recent clip of an interview, the rapper says he was drinking Hennessy that night … and says it was to blame for his offensive tweets.
“I definitely was drinking when I put up the death con tweet,” he told Candace Owens in the unreleased interview which has been uploaded this week. “You know whose, I wanna say alcohol I had inside me?” he asked her. “Hennessy. Hennessy. It turns us gray. Literally, the demons [come in].”
Owens asked the rapper why he did not reveal that the time that he was drunk.
“Because it keeps taking away the fact of what I was saying or what I was about to do,” he said, adding that “sometimes the truth comes through,” but if people knew he was drinking, they would try to “discredit” him.
Ye’s rant lost him his partnerships with GAP, Adidas and came close to getting the rapper canceled completely.
