Kandi Burruss says she has no regrets about walking away from The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
Kandi first announced she was leaving the Bravo show in February while walking the red carpet at the 2024 Grammy Awards in February.
“I decided I’m not coming back this year,” she told Variety at the time. “I’m going to take a break, I’m going to take a moment… I’m not coming back this year.”
Since then, the star has been booked and busy, guest-starring on Reasonable Doubt, going on tour with her group XSCAPE, and producing a Broadway version of Othello. The Atlanta singer is also still a mainstay on Showtime’s The Chi.
“I couldn’t be happier with the way things have been going since I am not on the show,” she told PEOPLE. “Not that I don’t like the show, I just feel like when I left, I had done 14 seasons straight. No other Housewife had done that. So a lot of times, I was filming all year-round reality, and that can be a little draining. Since I left Housewives, I’ve done a lot of things I’m super excited about. It’s a lot happening.”
