Kandi Burruss is done pretending she and Tamar Braxton are friends.
Speaking on Friday’s episode of her “Speak On It” podcast, the former Real Housewives of Atlanta star said she “genuinely” dislikes Tamar and felt caught off guard when the singer approached her at an ESSENCE Festival event.
“Now, we gonna tiptoe around this or we gonna get straight to it? Talking about Tamar Braxton,” Kandi said before recounting the interaction.
Kandi said Tamar approached her while cameras were nearby, even though both women knew their relationship remained fractured. She accused Tamar of behaving differently in person than she had online.
The Xscape singer also addressed speculation that she had kept Tamar out of event photos. Kandi said the particular pictures were limited to award recipients and presenters, and Tamar was neither.
Kandi claimed another incident happened about three weeks later at a party in Atlanta. According to Kandi, Tamar walked by and muttered an insult before continuing across the room.
When Tamar’s date later sat near Kandi, security reportedly stayed close. Kandi said she suspected Tamar wanted a public reaction that could be used against her afterward. She also referenced an awkward red carpet exchange in 2025 and messages she said she never answered.
“I do not like that b—h,” she added.
Tamar has not responded publicly to the latest claims.
