Kandi Burruss is speaking about life after marriage and says that she’s trying to move on.
The former Real Housewives of Atlanta star recently spoke with The Atlanta Journal-Constitution about the painful end of her marriage to Todd Tucker.
“I stay busy,” Kandi told the news outlet. “I’m not healed.”
Kandi is currently preparing for performances of her one-woman show, I Do. I Did. I’m Done, where she openly addresses the collapse of her 11-year marriage and Todd’s alleged affair.
While discussing the transition to single life, Kandi admitted she still struggles to separate her identity from the relationship she built with Tucker over more than a decade.
“I don’t like to talk about stuff, because I don’t like to be emotional, don’t like to be sad,” she shared. “I like to live into the positive.”

The former Bravo star explained that she and Todd once handled nearly every aspect of life side by side, from traveling together to running businesses and raising their children.
“When you do something to someone, you cannot dictate how they react to the situation,” Kandi added. “You can’t tell me how I’m supposed to move in this situation.”
Kandi and Todd first met in 2011 while filming The Real Housewives of Atlanta, where Todd worked as a producer. Their relationship quickly became a major storyline on the Bravo series and the pair tied the knot in 2014 and later welcomed two children together while also blending their families from previous relationships.
