Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burress has decided to leave the Real Housewives of Atlanta franchise, Media Take Out confirmed.
The longest serving member of the show decided NOT to return to the show. We did a bit of digging, and we have the REAL TEA.
Media Take Out learned that the producers of the Real Housewives of Atlanta have been trying out new potential housewives for the past 6 months, to bring “fresh” new housewives to the show.
While the producers were trying out new ladies, the existing Housewives had to sit home, and not take on any new projects. The show hasn’t been filming now for over a year.
And since Kandi hasn’t received word on whether she’ll be invited back, or any timeline when that decision would be made … she decided to walk away from the show.
And she’s walking away from a HUGE check. Media Take Out learned that Kandi was scheduled to make more than $2M for the upcoming season.
Kandi made the formal announcement yesterday on the Grammys red carpet.
“I’m not really keeping up right now,” she said, when asked about the show. “I’m not keeping up. I already said it, so I’ll tell you. I decided I’m not coming back this year. It’s been 14 seasons, and they allowed us to sit around for a little too long, but during that time I had started working on a lot of other things, and I got some nice big projects coming soon, so I’m super excited about those things.
