Juvenile has denied throwing shade at Kendrick Lamar after it was announced that the Compton rapper would be headlining the Super Bowl Halftime show next year.
The Hot Boys rapper called Lamar one of “the best performers we’ve ever seen,” and that he has no issues with him.
“Kendrick is that dude. I never threw shade on Kendrick not one time because I don’t live my life like that. I don’t like to tear somebody else down. I feel like Wayne was campaigning for that spot, you know? He came out months ahead of time. I’m like, if he asking for it, at least consider him … give him a call or something,” he said, confirming that he would perform alongside K.Dot on the Super Bowl stage if asked.
“My quarrel was never with JAY-Z or Kendrick or anything like that. My quarrel was with the NFL. They come to our city and they throw this big major event and they rent all the buildings and they don’t let the people from the city on and we don’t see those benefits. I feel like the NFL dropped the ball,” he added.
Lil Wayne was left heartbroken after the snub, but some fans believed that Jay-Z made the best choice after reviewing some of Kendrick’s past shows.
