Justin Timberlake’s attorney says the singer will be found innocent after he was arrested last month for driving while under the influence of alcohol.
“He was not intoxicated. I’ll say it again: Justin Timberlake was not intoxicated,” Ed Burke via WABC. “And we are very confident that charge, that criminal charge, will be dismissed.”
Timberlake was arrested on June 18 after leaving a bar just after midnight in his vehicle. Police noticed that while driving, he failed to stop and failed to maintain his lane of travel.
Police said the singer’s eyes were bloodshot, glassy eyes and “a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage” emanating from his breath. They also claimed he had slowed speech, was unsteady on his feet and all but failed a field sobriety test.
Timberlake told police officers that he had only consumed one martini, but witnesses say the pop singer was “wasted.”
Timberlake is slated to appear virtually on Aug. 2 in Sag Harbor Village Justice Court as he is currently on a world tour.
