Justin Baldoni’s Team Wants Weight Allegations Kept From Jury

Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s legal teams are continuing to battle ahead of their upcoming trial, with new filings focusing on what evidence jurors will be allowed to hear.

In a recent motion, attorneys for Wayfarer Studios, co-founded by Baldoni, asked the court to exclude claims that he made comments about Lively’s weight during the production of It Ends With Us. The filing argues the allegations are “irrelevant” to the current case and would “serve only to inflame the jury and cause unfair prejudice.”

The request follows an earlier ruling that narrowed Lively’s lawsuit, dismissing several claims, including those related to sexual harassment. As a result, the case now centers on her allegations of retaliation.

Lively’s legal team pushed back, saying the disputed claims remain important.

They argued the allegations are “part of the same course of conduct” and provide “necessary context” for her case.

The disagreement traces back to a 2023 meeting involving Lively, Baldoni and Ryan Reynolds. In her complaint, Lively alleged Baldoni used “back-channel ways of criticizing her body and weight,” including contacting her trainer.

Baldoni’s attorneys have denied those claims, saying he reached out only to understand her weight for a lift scene and avoid injury.

Lively is seeking up to $300 million in damages.

A pretrial hearing is scheduled for April 28, with jury selection set to begin in May.
