Jussie Smollett and Karamo Brown are reportedly dating!
TMZ reported that the former Empire actor, 44, and the Queer Eye star, 45, spent Monday together in Los Angeles on what the outlet called an “all-day” date.
Their outing included lunch with Brown’s mother, errands around town and a hike through Runyon Canyon.
The report arrives just weeks after Smollett’s engagement to actor and filmmaker Jabari Redd ended. Smollett announced that proposal in June 2025, writing at the time, “I’ll be spending my birthday with my Fiancé… He said YES.”
Brown’s last public engagement was to director Ian Jordan. In 2020, he said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, “My fiancé and I, we were together for 10 years and we broke up about three and a half months ago.”

Smollett’s 2019 legal case over his claim that he was attacked in Chicago ended with his conviction overturned by the Illinois Supreme Court in 2024. Smollett claimed he was beaten, had bleach poured on him and a noose tied around his neck during the attack. It was later alleged that he paid two Nigerian brothers, who were personal trainers and aspiring actors at the time, to carry out the attack to raise his profile. He has maintained his innocence.
Brown, meanwhile, recently spoke about hurt behind the scenes at Queer Eye, saying his mother overheard castmates speaking negatively about him.
Neither Smollett nor Brown has publicly confirmed the relationship. For now, the news lands as a surprising soft launch for two men used to living loudly in public, and even louder under scrutiny together now.
