Justin Timberlake was informed by a judge during a virtual court hearing for his recent DUI arrest that his driver’s license would be suspended.

Sag Harbor Justice Carl Irace scolded Timberlake’s lawyer, Edward Burke Jr., telling him to “be more mindful when giving comments” and adding that Burke’s words “come off as an attempt to poison the case before it even begins.”

In court,  Burke argued that Timberlake was “not intoxicated” when he was arrested on June 18 in Sag Harbor, N.Y.

“I’ll say it again. Justin Timberlake was not intoxicated. And we are very confident that charge — that criminal charge — will be dismissed,” he added, per WABC.

“The most important fact to know about this case is that Justin was not intoxicated and should not have been arrested for DWI,” he said at the time. “The police made a number of very significant errors in this case. In court today, you heard the district attorney try to fix one of those errors. But that’s just one and there are many others. Sometimes the police make mistakes and this is just one of those instances.”

If the comments continued, Irace threatened Burke that he would enforce a gag order or request Timberlake appear in person, which would interrupt his Forget Tomorrow World Tour.
