Judge Shuts Down Muni Long’s Ex-Managers’ Demand for Medical Records!

Muni Long’s former managers have been blocked from accessing her private medical records amid their ongoing legal battle with the Grammy-winning singer.

On Thursday, Oct. 8, Magistrate Judge Sarah Netburn ruled that Chaka Zulu and Jeff Dixon cannot obtain Long’s medical records, even though they sought them to support a defamation claim against the R&B star.

Long publicly alleged that her former managers had her involuntarily admitted to a mental health facility in March 2024, but Zulu and Dixon have denied the accusation, calling it a “blatant lie” intended to damage their reputations.

Their attorneys argued that records from Cleveland Clinic Indian River Behavioral Health Center could help establish what happened during Long’s admission, but the judge determined that the singer’s medical information remains protected.

“Plaintiff may ask Hamilton about the circumstances of her admission to the clinic but may not seek discovery of her medical records and treatment,” Netburn wrote.

In October 2025, Zulu and Dixon sued Long, whose real name is Priscilla Renea Hamilton, over more than $600,000 in allegedly unpaid management commissions. Long later countersued, accusing her former managers of misconduct and alleging the distress she experienced at the facility. She subsequently withdrew those particular allegations from her case.

Netburn ruled that withdrawing the claim restored Long’s medical privilege.
