Rapper YNW Melly allegedly hid inside a suitcase in order to evade arrest from the cops.
A video was played to the judge in court during his trial.
In the video, the “Murder On My Mind” rapper can be heard saying, “My name is Melly, and I’m going to turn myself in. But I’m in a suitcase because these crackers are arresting me, and I want to get on a private jet so they don’t see me.”
According to the prosecution, the video, which Melly recorded himself, was last file found on his phone prior to turning himself in.
The video footage was not shown to jurors…only to the judge.
YNW Melly and his childhood friend YNW Bortlen are each charged with two counts of first-degree murder with a firearm in the 2018 shooting deaths of friends YNW Sakchaser and YNW Juvy.
Melly’s attorneys tried to get the judge to proclaim a mistrial but the motion was denied.
