Pooh Shiesty’s father has been ordered released from custody in Texas amid an ongoing federal case involving veteran rapper Gucci Mane.

On Wednesday, a Dallas judge denied prosecutors’ bid to keep Lontrell Williams Sr. behind bars. Williams had previously received a pretrial release order, but prosecutors said they planned to seek a “motion to revoke the order,” instigating the court to hold him until a decision was made.

Williams Sr. is among nine people accused in the alleged kidnapping and robbery of Gucci Mane inside a Dallas music studio. Federal prosecutors claim Williams Sr. and Pooh Shiesty, born Lontrell Williams Jr., were involved in a plan to pressure Gucci Mane into signing paperwork that would release the rapper from his record deal.

Pooh Shiesty is scheduled to stand trial on July 6, 2026.

Pooh Shiesty became one of Memphis rap’s biggest breakout names after signing with Gucci Mane’s 1017 Records. His rise included the hit “Back in Blood.” Their business relationship took a left turn over Shiesty’s contract with the label, and he has been desperately trying to be let go.

Big30, whose legal name is Rodney Wright Jr., is also a defendant. Prosecutors allege he blocked the studio door and passed Williams Sr. a gun during the alleged incident.
