Boosie Badazz is celebrating after a judge dismissed a felony gun case against him.
The rapper faced state charges for being a felon in possession of a firearm after he was arrested during a traffic stop in May 2023. Boosie was in the car with another individual at the time of the traffic stop and two loaded handguns were found inside the vehicle.
Boosie’s friend, Steven “Shorty” Duarte’s case, went to trial, and he was found guilty of being a felon in possession of a firearm, but he fought the conviction and claimed the government violated his Second Amendment rights, and the courts sided with him, overturning his conviction.
“This situation made me see who was down with me and who wasn’t,” rapper Torrence Hatch Jr., who has also previously been known as Lil Boosie, said outside of a San Diego federal courtroom. “Ninety percent of people thought I was going to prison, but God had a different plan.”
Boosie hopped online to celebrate with his fans.
