Johnny Depp Files His Own Appeal Against Amber Heard

Johnny Depp has filed his own appeal against his ex-wife Amber Heard.

This month, Amber’s attorneys asked a judge to throw out the $10.35 million verdict against her because she believes one of the jurors was not vetted properly and was not a proper juror.

“The verdict is excessive as a matter of law in light of the evidence and law, and should be set aside,” Elaine Bredehoft and Ben Rottenborn argued in the motion.

Depp was awarded compensatory damages and punitive damages, after finding that allegations she made in an article were “false” and that she had acted with “actual malice”.

Depp has now filed an appeal to cover his back.

“Mr. Depp ended up filing his own appeal, so that the court could have the full record,” Depp’s attorney, Camille Vasquez, told Gayle King. “And [Heard] insists on continuing to litigate this matter, and we have to protect our client’s interest.”
