Jodie Turner-Smith reportedly walked away from her marriage to Joshua Jackson aand now sources close to the actress say it’s because their marriage “turned unhealthy.”
“She decided that she is done,” a source told PEOPLE.
“They are on very different paths in life,” the source continued. “Jodie loves being a mom. She also loves working. It turned into an unhealthy marriage that made her unhappy. They will co-parent their daughter. They want her to continue to thrive.”
The actress filed in Los Angeles citing “irreconcilable differences” as grounds for the divorce. She wrote they have been separated since September 13 and is seeking joint custody of their daughter, Juno, 3.
The couple were married in 2019 and Jodie gave birth to their daughter the following year.
Two years ago, Joshua revealed that Jodie proposed to the Dawson’s Creek actor.
“She asked me, yeah, on New Year’s Eve,” he said on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” in July 2021. “We were in Nicaragua. It was very beautiful and incredibly romantic. We were walking down the beach and she asked me to marry her.”
