Jen Shah Ordered To Enroll In Mental Health Treatment Program After Prison Sentence

Media Take Out Staff |

Next month, Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Jen Shah will begin her 6-and-a-half-year prison sentence for conspiracy to commit wire fraud…but when she leaves, a judge has ordered Jen to undergo mental health treatment upon her release.

“You must participate in an outpatient mental health treatment program approved by the United States Probation Office,” one of the stipulations in the court documents reads. “You must continue to take any prescribed medications unless otherwise instructed by the health care provider. You must contribute to the cost of services rendered based on your ability to pay and the availability of third-party payments. The Court authorizes the release of available psychological and psychiatric evaluations and reports, including the pre-sentence investigation report, to the health care provider.”

According to the judge, Jen must participate in an “outpatient treatment program,” which “may include testing to determine whether you have reverted to using drugs or alcohol.”

Jen changed her not guilty plea to guilty in July. In return, the U.S. Attorney’s office dropped the second charge of conspiracy to commit money laundering as part of a plea deal. She could have been sentenced to up to 30 years of prison had she not taken the plea.
